I have been watching a little of Jamie Oliver's revolution and find it amazing what is served for school lunches. The girls bring lunch from home...we pack it together. Yogurt, fruit, crackers, carrot sticks for the most part...I admit there are some chips in there as well. The girls are always encouraged to think healthy when making choices and generally do! Start them young thinking about what they are putting in their little bodies!

As for kids doing better because they get more attention ... well, there is not a single study that shows this. It is simply an opinion. If getting extra attention could cure ADHD, believe me, parents would have figured it out.

We are lucky to have a farmer's market near us when we vacation in Maine...blueberries, fresh baked bread, and lots of veggies are a must. The girls love to go!

I can't end the week, without commenting about Omega3 in the news. There was a lawsuit filed against a number of brands (not Shaklee) that raised some concerns, brands that used cod liver oil. There are NO safety issues Shaklee's OmegaGuard.

We use pharmaceutical grade fish oil, we use a molecular distillation pr...ocess to remove contaminants like dioxings, mercury and PCB's.Here's the rest of the scoop.

Thanks for asking me to comment on something I have done for years, but I had not seen anywhere. That is that you can give your kids frozen veggies as a snack. I found this out one day as I left the frozen peas on the table before I microwaved them. My twins had them gone by the time I got back to heat them. I tried other veggies too including but not limited to beans,carrots, cauliflower and broccoli and sure enough they loved them frozen as well. Makes a nutrious snack, easy to prepare, and inexpensive as well. Mine liked potatoes, squash, and turnip sliced and eaten raw better than the frozen variety. Healthy eating everyone!!!
